Clinical Director

Sharleen O’Brien Dolan, Psy.D., is a clinical psychologist who oversees the many programs of New Beginnings. She hails from the San Francisco Bay area where she earned her doctorate at the California Institute of Integral Studies, bringing with her a wealth of experience including postings at the State of California Department of Mental Health as well as being a Clinical Supervisor for Casa Pacifica.

Director of Community Relations

Gary G. Linker, Ph.D., is a well-known and respected therapist and community fundraiser. Since he came to Santa Barbara in 1972, he has been creating innovative programs and educational opportunities. He co-founded Pacifica Graduate Institute and a youth and family counseling program in the mid-70’s called New Directions.

Director of Development

Jason R. Johnson is a California native who got his start in the nonprofit world in Seattle, Washington after transitioning from a professional marketing career in hospitality. This is his third position overseeing a development department focused on major donors and special events after returning to the Gold Coast in 2004.

Office Manager

Rosio Aparicio keeps the office running at a brisk pace overseeing all the administrative staff at New Beginnings, including volunteers. “Rosie” brings us a wealth of experience and especially keeps the office working efficiently with her bilingual skills that helps us with all who seek help from New Beginnings.
